Beta Reader Agreement
 

This Agreement is entered into between Brook Wright (“Author”) and the undersigned Beta Reader (“Reader”) as of the date of acceptance.
 

1. Purpose

The Author agrees to provide the Reader with access to an unpublished manuscript (“Work”) for the sole purpose of receiving feedback prior to publication.

The Reader understands that this is a confidential, pre-release version of the Work.
 

2. Confidentiality (STRICT)

The Reader agrees that the Work is confidential and proprietary.

The Reader shall not:

• Share, distribute, copy, or reproduce any part of the Work

• Post excerpts, screenshots, or summaries online (including social media, blogs, or forums)

• Discuss plot details, characters, or twists publicly or privately with others

• Upload the Work to any website, cloud service, or AI tool
  
  This obligation remains in effect indefinitely, even after the beta reading period ends.
   

3. No Ownership or Rights

The Reader acknowledges that:

• The Work is the sole property of the Author

• The Reader receives no rights, ownership, or claim to the Work

• Feedback provided does not grant the Reader any authorship, credit, or compensation unless otherwise agreed in writing
   

4. Use of Feedback

The Author may use, modify, or disregard any feedback at their sole discretion.

The Reader understands that:

• There is no guarantee their suggestions will be implemented

• Feedback is voluntary and provided without expectation of compensation
   

5. Non-Distribution & Security

The Reader agrees to:

• Keep all files secure and private

• Not download, print, or store copies beyond personal reading use

• Delete all copies of the Work upon request by the Author or upon completion
   

6. No Recording or Reproduction

The Reader may not:

• Record audio versions of the Work

• Create summaries for distribution

• Adapt, rewrite, or use the Work in any form for personal or commercial use
   

7. Conduct & Professionalism

The Reader agrees to provide honest, respectful, and constructive feedback.

Harassment, public criticism prior to release, or intentional harm to the Author’s reputation will result in immediate termination of this agreement.
 

8. Early Reviews & Spoilers

The Reader agrees:

• Not to post reviews (Amazon, Goodreads, social media, etc.) before the Author gives permission

• Not to include spoilers in any future reviews without proper warning
   

9. Termination

The Author reserves the right to terminate this agreement at any time, for any reason.

Upon termination, the Reader must immediately delete all copies of the Work.
 

10. Legal Protection

Any breach of this agreement, including unauthorized distribution or sharing, may result in legal action.

The Reader acknowledges that unauthorized sharing of copyrighted material is a violation of U.S. copyright law.
 

11. Agreement Acceptance

By accepting access to the Work, the Reader confirms that they have read, understood, and agreed to all terms outlined above.
